FTI provides services and products necessary to support the full spectrum of DoD and commercial system acquisition decisions from early concept development through sustainment trade-off analyses. It supports early System Engineering activities from establishing requirements through measure of effectiveness (MOE), requirements analysis support, analysis of alternatives (AoA) results integration, and risk analysis. FTI integrates cost, performance, schedule and risk into one seamless decision space that also enables a structured, comparative evaluation for alternative architectures, systems, and technologies. The analysis typically focuses on determining performance or utility of potential solutions, supporting risk assessments, identifying schedule considerations and integrating a source of cost data to create a performance versus cost trade space. FTI analysts provide the necessary experience and expertise that are necessary to help customers quickly and effectively determine the most cost-effective, value-based solutions. FTI services are focused on using a combination of FTI’s own tools as well a community-accepted analysis infrastructure. The primary tool used in this business area is the Integrated Cost As an Independent Variable (I-CAIV®) tool.
